Cathal Kelly: Walk to Rome

Swinford man Cathal Kelly is completing a phenomenal 2200 km Canterbury to Rome walk
over the course of four months to raise funds for our Mayo Branch and the Children’s Health Foundation, Crumlin.

Cathal said: “In Summer 2024, I will take on the mammoth challenge of walking the ancient pilgrimage route from Canterbury to Rome, known as the Via Francigena.

This is a route of over 2200 kilometres through the 5 countries of England, France, Switzerland, Italy and ending in the Vatican.

I will undertake this epic personal challenge to raise money for two Irish charities very close to my heart: Children’s Health Foundation Crumlin and Mayo Parkinson’s Branch.

This trip is completely self-funded and all monies donated will be divided amongst both charities.”
