Here are the following classes we have planned for our members each week. Any updates…
Brain Awareness Week: 11-17th March 2024
Did you know that neurological disorders affect up to 1 billion people worldwide, nearly 1 in 6 of the world’s population?
We will be joining Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI) in support of Brain Awareness Week from the 11-17th of March to promote greater awareness of the brain and brain conditions, along with the need for more investment in services, research and prevention.
Parkinson’s Ireland are delighted to be included as one of the NAI’s strong partners to promote awareness for brain conditions and the advocacy work the NAI do. The week will allow us to highlight the need for investment in services for people with neurological conditions, as well as promoting preventative approaches to neurological diseases.

‘The Changing Brain’
According to the World Health Organisation, 1 in 3 people will experience a neurological condition in their lifetime.
The Dementia: Understand Together campaign, led by the HSE in partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, Age Friendly Ireland, Age & Opportunity, Healthy Ireland and the Dementia Services Information and Development Centre, is encouraging everyone to make simple changes to help maintain brain health and reduce the risk of developing some types of dementia.
This year’s theme is ‘The Changing Brain‘, a great reminder to us all of just how amazing our brains are and their ability to change and adapt. It really is never too late, or too early, to start looking after your brain!
